Ashland, WI is home to an endless number of opportunities with which to fill the hours in between your meals at The Platter Restaurant.  Here are a few of our favorite spots.

Hiking and Birding

While the entire Chequamegon Bay Area we are located within is great for hiking and bird watching, our local Prentice Park as well as shoreline trail are only a few blocks away.  For those looking for a more strenuous hike to build up a bigger appetite, check out Morgan Falls and St. Peter's Dome.

The Chequamegon Bay Golf Club is one of Northern Wisconsin's finest golf challenges and a perfect way to prepare yourself for a basket of our famous popovers.  Enjoy some of our area's scenery as you test your skills from any of the four sets of tees. This 18-hole championship golf facility is both challenging and enjoyable for golfers of all skill levels.

Day Trips

In the event that you ate so much of our food you need an entire day to digest before returning, you may want to catch a local ferry to Madeline Island.  If you thought our menu offered a lot of options (you were right), wait till your ferry arrives.  The largest of the Apostle Island Archipelago, Madeline has everything from casinos to museums to skate parks (bring knee pads).
